27th July is coming, yay!

Woh. We were overwhelmed with requests for a booth, that we've increased our number of booths: originally 12, currently 15! Apologies to those who didn't manage to get a booth; we'll keep you guys in the loop for the next round of Pasar we'll be organising. Do pay us a visit, though, to reccee the place :)

Otherwise, we've got a myriad of vendors: from 2nd-hand clothes/books/cds, we've also 2 booths selling drinks, lollies and cupcakes. There are a couple of artists selling their crafts as well. The guys from TWC2 (Transient Workers Count Too : society concerned with the welfare of foreign migrant workers) will be doing some awareness promotion. And let's not forget, we've also got a Tarot Card Reader amongst us.

Suggestions for Vendors

Here's how Post-Museum looks like: the white shophouse at the end of Rowell Road.

We, helpful coordinators, have prepared some pointers for you vendors to consider, especially for the first-timers!

Arrange your booth!
Bring bins, or cardboard boxes to arrange your ware! Have special "$1 dollar" bins! Prepare simple signs! Do whatever you need to do to lure people over to your booth! Labelling your items with a simple price tag (we've seen some people who tagged their items with ice-cream sticks), or colour-coded stickers to help you with remember the prices!Of course, be prepared for some hardcore haggling. Bring colourful markers or colourful paper to write "5 for $10" signs. You know what we mean.

Share the booth with a friend or two!
A filled, colourful table brightens up your booth! If you are only selling a few items, do consider sharing your booth with some interested friends as well. This really helps: you can arrange a rotating shifts among yourselves so one of you can take a break or a breather. Of course, let your friend(s) know how much you intend to sell your stuff, so you all would not squabble among yourselves later :P

Market yourself!
If you participate in many other flea markets, have an online shop, or an artist with an online portfolio of goodness, take this opportunity to market yourself! Print out name cards! Throw in some flyers! It’s really up to you how you want to sell yourself.

Prepare some plastic bags / paper bags for your customers
Grab your old plastic bags / paper bags to pack the stuff for your customers! Pack a variety of them: big ones / small ones / branded ones. An eco-friendly solution: helps you get rid of those pesky bags that you've been piling up at home as well.

Well, helps with Greening your life, really. That's what we are advocating over at Food #03.
For those of you selling breakable items (glasses / ceramics), bring some old newspapers as well to wrap-and-tuck them nicely.

Bottled Water is good
All that haggling with your customers is going to make you thirsty. Prepare loads of bottled water for yourselves. We've got 7-11s nearby, and Food #03 right beside Post-Museum for your lunch or dinner.
